later small, scale-like
♂ flowers with numerous stamens
♀ flowers with few seed scales , which become woody or thicken after ripening (common juniper)
the family includes about 18 genera with more than 120 species that grow all over the Earth
In Slovakia, this family is represented by only one genus - juniper (Juniperus).
